Premium vs MasterSuite vs Superior Seats

The differences between Bath Royale Premium, MasterSuite, and Superior toilet seats are material, design, Quick-Release mechanism, size, and color availability.

Materials: Bath Royale uses two types of high-quality polymers (plastic) to produce toilet seats, either polypropylene or Eurocast®. Plastic has a variety of properties that make it ideal for toilet seats vs. other materials, such as painted/molded wood. Plastic is always specified in public restrooms because it is non-porous and will not absorb moisture or germs. Plastic is chemical and stain resistant, very durable, and lasts much longer than painted wood. Most plastic seats included with new toilets are thin and lightweight, with cheap mounting hardware, but Bath Royale seats are above average weight and thickness. Tested to 400 lbs. (on the seat and closed lid), Bath Royale seats are a solid color throughout and will not chip, peel, or fade. Our mounting hardware includes stainless steel mounting posts and bolts. All Bath Royale toilet seats have a 2-year warranty, double the industry standard.

  • Premium and Superior seats are made of polypropylene, a light, relatively soft plastic that is warmer to the touch than other toilet seat materials. Bath Royale uses 100% pure, non-recycled polypropylene because it is stronger and provides a beautiful high-gloss finish. Our polypropylene may flex, but it’s nearly impossible to break, and will last for years with proper care and cleaning, but scratches relatively easily (so avoid abrasives and hard sharp objects).
  • MasterSuite seats are made of Eurocast®, a high-tech polymer that is harder, heavier and stiffer than polypropylene. Eurocast® is extremely durable and scratch-resistant. The finish is closer to matte than high gloss. Eurocast® breathes better against the skin and does not flex like polypropylene. MasterSuite bumpers are rubberized, slip-resistant and positioned for maximum stability. For those who prefer a heavy, stiff seat, dislike flex, or are above average weight and like to sit and move around on the closed cover, MasterSuite is the best choice. NOTE: Eurocast® is more porous than polypropylene and may stain or leave faint water spots if urine or dark liquids are left on the surface for long periods (so be sure to wipe off urine and dark liquids ASAP).

Size (Round or Elongated): Per North American plumbing standards, all toilets are either round or elongated (aka oval or oblong). MEASURE YOUR TOILET, NOT YOUR SEAT to determine if you need a round or elongated toilet seat. NOTE: Measure from the seat mounting holes to the front, top edge of the bowl (see diagram link below). Elongated bowls = 18.5 inches, and Round bowls = 16.5 inches.

  • Premium seats are available in Round (BR620) or Elongated (BR606) sizes and 3 colors, White (00), Biscuit/Linen (01) and Almond/Bone (02)
  • MasterSuite seats are available in Round (BR283) or Elongated (BR237) sizes and 3 colors, White (00), Biscuit/Linen (01) and Almond/Bone (02)
  • Superior seat is available in Elongated size only and White only (BR644-00)
  • Premium Family seat (with built-in child seat) is available in Elongated size only and White only (BR631B-00)

NOTE: The width of toilet bowls varies from 13.5 to 14.5 inches. Most residential seats are 14 inches wide with a lid (cover) the same size that stacks evenly on top of the seat. We call this a traditional "stacked" lid design. Bath Royale's Elongated Premium (BR606) and Elongated Premium Family (BR631B) seats have "telescoping" lids that are slightly larger than the seat itself, extending beyond the seat on all 4 sides. When the lid is closed, these seats look great, but the seat ring itself is only 13.5 (BR606) or 13.75 (BR631B) inches wide. As a result, when the lid is open on a wider toilet bowl, you may see a bit of chinaware on both sides of these 2 seats. If your toilet bowl is wider than 14.25 inches, you may want to consider the MasterSuite (BR237) or Superior (BR644) for better bowl coverage.  This is not an issue for Round toilets, because all Bath Royale round seats have traditional "stacked" lids and are 14 inches wide.

NOTE: Bath Royale's Superior Elongated seat (BR644) has less contour (more flat) and more surface area for sitting. People accustomed to hard, flat and stiff wood seats might prefer the shape and contour of BR644 Superior seat. Quick-Release: All Bath Royale seats feature Soft-Close and Quick-Release for easy cleaning. Quick-Release is activated differently for each model:

  • Premium Elongated and Round seats have 1-button (at back of seat hinge)
  • MasterSuite has 2 buttons (left and right near the mounting posts)
  • Superior and Premium Family seats (both available in Elongated size only) have no buttons, simply open the seat to vertical position and lift straight up
